koottu-kottippaadi-seva  
It’s a very new composition by Njeralathu Harigovindan. He is trying to uplift the musical drums called Edakka and Mizhaavu to the main stream instead of mere accompanying instruments. Koottu Kottippaadi Seva is a combination of Sopanasangeetham lyrics, Ashtapdees and Malayalam famous poetries. Harigovindan is singing the songs along with themelodious drumming of Edakka and Mizhavu
about 10 songs as above within one and half hours.
 
In between these songs Edakka Maestro Subrahmanian Peringode plays songs and eastern and westerns rythms on his Edakka, then after few songs, Kalamandalam Ratheesh Bhas perform his amazing beats on Mizhavu. As the following of a song both these drummers are makes thrill by their unbeatable “Thaniyaavarthanm” a Kerala drum fusion. Hari narrates all the peculiarities of Kerala drumming culture in between these songs not as a demonstration feel but quite naturally. Koottu Kottippaadi Seva is an art interpretation by Njeralathu Harigovindan as the part of his innovative activities.
